Our Automated Designer is a powerful tool, but occasionally you might encounter design errors, especially when customizing existing designs. This guide will help you understand and resolve common issues.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting Tips
Blank Designs
Problem: You see a blank design on your product.
Cause: This can happen when adding a new product or due to unexpected glitches.
Solution:
Click into the item and add a custom design/logo to the product.
Alternatively, delete the product from your store if you don't intend to customize it.
Replace Embroidery to B&W
Problem: Replace embroidery to B&W | Non black/white
You receive an error indicating your embroidery design needs to be black and white.
Cause: Some embroidery products only support black and white designs.
Solution: Update your design to be strictly black and white (not dark gray)
Note: There is a 20 points RGB threshold for the colors our system checks (ex. RGB 10,10,10 is still considered black, but anything above it is not considered black)
Replace Low Resolution Layer
Problem: Replace low resolution layer | Low res (DPI)
Cause: One or more elements in your design don't meet the required resolution for printing.
Solution:
Upload a higher-quality image with the necessary resolution.
Ensure your file is either a high-resolution png image (minimum of 1800 pixels in width) or an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) file
Alternatively, reduce the size of the low-resolution element.
Important: Using adequate resolution is crucial for print quality.
Replace Non-CMYK Layer
Problem: You receive a warning about non-CMYK colors in your design.
Cause: Printing requires designs to be in the CMYK color range.
Solution:
Upload a new image that uses CMYK colors.
How to Convert to CMYK:
Use an image editing software (or connect with your Design/Marketing team) to convert your image from RGB to CMYK.
Always embed the CMYK color profile when saving your file to ensure consistent color reproduction.
Important: Bright or neon colors may look different when converted from RGB to CMYK.
Redesign Product
Problem: You're asked to redesign your product due to changes in print file settings.
Cause: Updates to product print file settings may require design adjustments.
Solution:
Click the "Design" option for the product.
Apply the necessary changes to meet the new product settings.
Save your changes.
Design File Resolution Guidelines:
For optimal print quality, use either:
High-resolution PNG images (minimum 1800 pixels in width)
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) files
By following these simple steps, you can confidently resolve most design errors and create stunning products. β¨
