How to install the Snappy MS Teams App
Before you get started, make sure:
You have MS Teams permissions needed to install Apps in your workspace
You are on a paid Snappy plan that includes integrations
You are using work emails for your gift recipients that match the emails used in MS Teams
Installing the Snappy Teams App is easy! Just follow these steps below:
1️⃣ Navigate to the Integrations tab in your Snappy Dashboard
2️⃣ Switch to All Accounts Mode
3️⃣ Click on MS Teams and follow the prompts to Get Started
4️⃣ Open Microsoft Teams
5️⃣ Open the additional options and select "Add to a team"
⚠️ When clicking “Add” (and not “Add to a team”) the app will only be installed for your specific user and you will not be able to send gifts to additional recipients
If you don’t have installation permissions, you will need to request permissions from your MS Teams' admin
6️⃣ Pick the team(s) that you want to install the Snappy Gifts App for and click "Set Up"
7️⃣ Get The Welcome Message on the Teams channel
You will first receive a default message stating that the Snappy bot only sends notifications and you cannot chat with it
After confirming the message, you will see Snappy's welcome message
⚠️ A Similar Message might be sent to personal chat of the admin installing the app - completing installation from that message will only install the app to this specific admin (and not to the entire team)
Only the Snappy admin should click on the “Complete Installation” button that will redirect to Snappy and automatically complete the connection between systems
⚠️ As this step redirects to Snappy, any non-snappy admin will not be able to pass the login page and complete the installation
Once clicked we recommend deleting or hiding the welcome message so others don’t click the Complete Integration button
8️⃣ Confirm that MS Teams is listed as a Connected Integration
Wait for the connection on the Snappy side to be automatically completed
Confirm a new Connected App for teams has been created
⚠️ The team name should appear on the connected app. If the name of the card states “member-level” this means the app has been installed for a specific user and not a team.
To resolve this issue, simply repeat the installation guide, confirming it is now installed under the team scope.
9️⃣ Add "MS Teams" as a sending channel in your Snappy Campaign
💡 We recommend you choose both email and Teams as the sending channels to ensure successful delivery and to increase engagement
1️⃣ 0️⃣ Gifts will be delivered Directly to Recipients
That's it! 🎉
