How to Remove an Expired Credit Card from Your Dashboard

Learn how to reassign active campaigns to a new payment method so you can safely delete expired credit cards from your dashboard.

To prevent billing interruptions on active gifts, Snappy locks saved payment methods that are attached to open campaigns. This guide walks you through adding a replacement card, updating your campaign settings, and safely removing your expired card from the dashboard.

Why Can't I Remove My Credit Card?

If you have added a new payment method but the Archive button on your old credit card is greyed out, the old card is still linked to one or more campaigns.

To protect active orders, Snappy prevents a card from being deleted while it is tied to any campaign in the following statuses:

  • Draft

  • Scheduled

  • Sent / Live

Before an expired card can be removed, every campaign linked to that card must first be reassigned to your new payment method.

How to Update a Campaign's Payment Method

First, add a new credit card to your Snappy dashboard:

  1. Go to Billing Billing Method + Add Billing Method

  2. Enter your new card details

  3. Save

Next, if you have fewer than 10 campaigns connected to your old card, update each campaign manually using the following steps:

  1. Go to the Campaigns tab in your dashboard.

  2. Hover over the campaign you need to edit.

  3. Click the three dots → select Edit.

  4. Navigate to the Checkout step.

  5. In the Billing section, select your new credit card from the menu.

  6. Click Save in the top-right corner before exiting.

  7. Repeat these steps for all remaining campaigns tied to the old card.

Need Bulk Assistance? If you have 10 or more campaigns connected to an expired card, reach out to our Support team via live chat or email. We can process an internal bulk update to assign your campaigns to your new card automatically.

Removing the Old Payment Method

Once every campaign attached to the old card has been updated:

  1. Go to Billing Billing Method

  2. Locate your old or expired credit card.

  3. Hover over the three dots; Archive Billing Method should now appear as a option.
