Understanding Print Techniques

A print technique is simply the method used to put your logo on a product. Each one looks and feels a little different, so here is a quick guide to the options in the Catalog.

Technique

How it works

What it's great for

Direct To Film (DTF)

Your design is printed onto a thin film, then heat-pressed onto the item.

Colorful, detailed designs on many types of fabric.

Direct To Garment (DTG)

A specialty printer applies ink straight onto the fabric, much like a home printer prints on paper.

Detailed, full-color artwork on shirts and other apparel, with a soft feel.

Embroidery

Your logo is stitched into the item with thread.

A classic, textured, premium look that lasts. Popular on hats, polos, and jackets.

Sublimation

Special ink turns into a gas and becomes part of the material instead of sitting on top.

Vivid color that won't peel or crack. Works best on polyester and coated items like mugs.

Digital Inkjet

Tiny droplets of ink are sprayed directly onto the surface of the item.

Full-color logos and detailed artwork.

Laser Printing

A laser etches the surface of the item.

A clean, permanent, usually one-color look. Often used on metal and wood.

UV Printing

Ink is printed onto the item, then instantly hardened with UV light.

Durable, full-color prints on hard items like drinkware, tech, and accessories.

Digital Printing

Your design is printed directly from a digital file onto the item.

Sharp, full-color designs.

Not sure which to pick? As a rule of thumb, embroidery suits simple logos, while the print methods handle colorful, detailed artwork.

Understanding Sizes

The Size filter lists every size offered across the Catalog. Select the sizes you need to see products available in them. Here is what the labels mean.

You'll see

What it means

XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, up to 6XL (also 2XS)

Standard adult sizes. The number shows how many "extra"s are in the size, so 3XL is a size up from 2XL.

LT, XLT, 2XLT, 3XLT, 4XLT

Tall sizes. A "T" after a letter means Tall: the same width, with extra length.

SM/MD, MD/LG, LG/XL, XL/2X, 2X/3X, 3X/4X, 4X/5X

Combined sizes. One item fits across two neighboring sizes, so LG/XL fits both Large and XL.

2T, 3T, 4T, 5T

Toddler sizes. A "T" after a number means Toddler.

3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m, 18-24m

Baby sizes, shown in months.

3-4, 5-6, 6, 7, 7-8, 9-11

Kids' sizes, shown as a number or age range.

One Size, OS

One size fits all. Common for hats, bags, and accessories.

Step 3: Review Product Details

Click any product tile to open its details page.

  • Product image: Click the magnifying glass in the corner of the image to zoom in.

  • Price: Each item shows its price along with "Shipping Included." The price shown does not include taxes or fees.

  • Color Options: Select a color swatch to see the product in that color.

  • Size Options: See every size the product comes in, and select one to preview.

  • To keep browsing, click the back arrow or Catalog at the top of the page.

Step 4: Customize Your Product

Found the one? Click Customize on the product page. A Choose a design window opens, because every swag item belongs to a Design: a saved master asset in your library that holds your logo and branded products.

  • Add To An Existing Design: Pick a design from the dropdown. The item uses that design's logo.

  • Create A New Design: Name your new design and pick a logo for it.

Then click Continue. Changed your mind? Click Cancel to return to the product.

That's it! You're ready to start building branded swag.
