Integration Filter - Excluding Recipients

How to exclude recipients from your integration list on the Snappy Dashboard but through the Snappy Dashboard

Updated over 5 months ago

This feature lets you exclude specific employees from syncing into Snappy via the HRIS integration so they don't appear in the synced recipient list and receive gifts.

How to Set up Filters 🔎

  1. Go to the "All Accounts" view of the Integrations page

  2. Click Add filter.

  3. Select a Field (HRIS employee property or supported custom field).

  4. A Rule dropdown appears. Pick a rule.

  5. If the rule needs an input, an Input box appears. Enter value(s).

  6. Repeat Add filter to add more conditions.

  7. Remove a single filter with the X icon.

  8. Remove all at once with Clear filters.

  9. Click Save on the configuration to apply.

  10. After saving and resyncing, please check your Recipients tab to ensure your filter worked.

How to Combine Filters ➕

  • Add multiple values within one filter by typing the value and then hit "enter", once this shows as it's own box, you can enter more values that fit the same field.

  • Add a secondary or multiple filters by clicking "Add Filter", entering the new filter, then either choose "ALL" or "ANY".

    • ALL = recipients must match every filter set in order to be excluded

    • ANY = recipients only need to match one of the filters set to be excluded

Common Fields Available to Filter

  • HRIS employee fields such as company_id, custom_id, employment_type, and other standard Snappy integration fields.

  • Custom fields exposed via Snappy Field Mappings (availability depends on the customer’s HRIS and mapping).

💡 Tip: If a field isn’t in the dropdown, it’s either not provided by the HR integration, not mapped in Snappy, or not currently supported.

Troubleshooting 💡

  • "I set the filters but the changes haven't been made": You can click "Sync now" or wait for the next automated daily sync to see the updates take effect.

  • “A field is missing”: Confirm it exists in the HRIS, is mapped in Merge, and is supported. Ask customer to refresh the configuration after updating mappings.

  • “Someone was excluded unexpectedly”: Review all filters; remember OR logic—matching any single filter excludes them.

  • “A filtered person still received a gift”: Ensure configuration was saved before the last sync; confirm their data in HRIS matches the rule values at sync time.

  • “Everyone disappeared”: Look for broad filters like “Is empty” on commonly empty fields or very wide “Contains” values; remove or narrow the rule.

FAQs ❓

  • Does this delete people? No. Matching employees are skipped or archived from being brought into the Snappy Dashboard. Filters can be removed and the recipient brought back in anytime you wish.

  • Case sensitivity? Treat values as they appear in your integration; if the matching looks off, try exact values or use “Contains”.

  • Multiple filters? Any single match excludes the employee. Use specific values to avoid over-filtering.
