Gift Expirations

We hear you loud and clear, and we're happy to announce that you can now add expiration dates to your Snappy gifts! πŸŽ‰

Previously, Snappy gifts had no expiration date and users must manually expire gifts from the Gift Activity tab. Now, users can set an expiration date for campaigns straight from the Dashboard. πŸš€


Setting an Expiration Date

Spot Rewards and Scheduled Campaigns

Under the Gift Settings of your campaign, you can choose one of the following options:
- Set a rolling expiration
- Set expiration date (specific date)
The default value is 60-days, but you can adjust the date as needed. Minimum day is 30 days. Once the gifts are sent, the gifts will automatically expire on the selected date and time.
- Never Expire

Please Note: This option is also available when creating Gift Codes/Gift Links


Automated Campaigns (Anniversary, Birthday, New Hire)

On the first step of your automated campaign, you can set a rolling expiration date for gifts. For newly created campaigns, the default value will be set to 60-days (or the account-level date), but you can simply click on the expiration drop-down and select the option that works best for you.

These gifts will expire on the rolling date at 23:59 UTC.

Please Note: The minimum days for expirations start at 30-days. If you wish for gifts to expire under 30 days, please manually expire them from the Gift Activity tab on the desired date.


Viewing and Extending Expiration Date

Viewing the Expiration Date

  • Under the Gift Activity tab, there is a column labeled "Expires at" that will display the date the gift is set to expire. To view the time, hover over the date.

  • Blank fields mean that there is no expiration date set for the gift

Extending the Expiration Date

  • Any gifts that are unopened, opened, and unwrapped with an expiration date can be extended.

    • Simply hover over the gift β†’ select the 3 dots icon β†’ select "Extend."
      If you approve the gift expiration date, the gift will be extended by 30 days.

  • There is no limitation on the number of times a gift can be extended

  • You can extend your gifts in bulk by bulk-selecting your recipients' entries β†’ "Extend expiration"


Updating an Account's Default Expiration

  • Admins can update the default expiration date for the account under the Account Settings tab

  • This default expiration will be set for all campaign types (spot rewards, scheduled, automated), but can be edited on the campaign-level as needed


Expiration Emails and Notifications

Recipient notifications

To increase your claim rate, all gifts and reminder emails will also have the expiration date listed.


Gift expiration will be reflected on:

  • Recipient communications

    • Expiration date will be added to new gift emails/SMS and reminder emails/SMS

    • New emails/SMS reminder will be sent 7 days & 1 day before gift expires

  • Recipient experience (snappygifts.com) will display the gift expiration date
